What is an App Studio Factory App Template License?
An App Studio Factory app template license is a license to use one of the templates provided in App Studio Factory . A license is required to deploy your app to the Apple App Store.

About App Studio Factory Templates
Four predefined templates are available in App Studio Factory and are free to try. However, once you’re ready to deploy your app, you will need to purchase an app template license that corresponds to the app template that you selected in App Studio Factory.

Note that irrespective of the app template type that you purchase, you will need to purchase at least one App Studio issue license pack in order to publish content (issues) to your app.

The four app template license types available to purchase are:

• Single Embedded Issue – An app that includes content (an issue) embedded within the app. Embedded issues are useful when you want to produce a standalone publication such as a cookbook or travel guide.

• One Title, Multiple Issues – An app that supports a single title, such as a magazine, and multiple issues of that title. Supports in-app purchases and in-app subscriptions.

• Multiple Titles, Multiple Issues – An app that supports multiple titles with multiple issues (e.g. a publisher that wants to have more than one magazine title in their app). Supports in-app purchases and in-app subscriptions.

• Bookshelf App – An app that includes a bookshelf that can contain multiple individual issues, such as a series of books or a collection of one-off publications. Supports in-app purchases.

Important Things to Know About App Template Licenses

1. Once you have purchased an app template license, you will receive a serial number by e-mail for your app template license. This serial number must be redeemed on the App Studio Publishing Portal .

2. App Studio Factory app template licenses include 12 months of updates to the purchased template. After the initial 12 months, you can repurchase the same App Studio Factory app template license again at any point should you wish to have a further 12 months of updates to the template. Updates may include support for new versions of the device operating system or new template functionality. If you don’t have any reason to update this app, you don’t need to repurchase the license.
